He was born in 1992 and became a diabetic in 2000. He has been on injections of insulin 2 times a day for 6 years. I met some wonderful vets who shared my quest for intergraded medical approaches for vet medicine. I have had great difficulties as well with other vets. Its all been very educational to say the least. This is also a good recipe for cats with urinary tract problems, cats with “allergies” and skin problems.
• 4 pounds of minced RAW Lamb
• 1 1/3 C of Oat Flakes (or other uncooked grains or a mix of grain)
• 1 2/3 C of shredded raw veggies -(carrots, zucchini, cucumber, green beans are my regulars)
• 4 Tablespoons of Bonemeal
• small amounts of poultry seasoning, Italian seasoning, garlic granules (optional)
Instructions
In a very large pot, fill about with about 6 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add grains and cook until very soft.
While grains are cooking shred your veggies and set aside.
When grains are done take off heat, add your ground Lamb RAW, one package at a time, stirring well to mix. Add MORE water if mixing becomes difficult.
Add Bonemeal and Veggies and mix again -mix well.
Make sure the consistency is like a slightly wet porridge -see photos below.
Freeze in small containers. Thaw enough that can be eaten in 2 days. Feed according to your cat. Don’t expect your cat to jump into a raw food diet straight from a commercial diet. See future blogs (hopeful if I have the time) for information on how to do this successfully.
Mix all ingredeants well along with enough water to make it wet meatball consitancy

Store in small containers -you can use larger than these -as long as your kitties can eat it up within 3 days

Voila -store your containers in the freezer -current food container store in the fridge
