I love looking at what others are doing creatively. I can’t help it. I don’t have much of an attention span I suppose and am always more interested in what others are doing than siting down and doing myself -well, I am at least equally interested!
I was one of those kids that always got in trouble for not focusing on my own work and paying too much attention too what everyone else was doing. There are just so too many really good creative blogs to look at. I get a little something special from each one. I suppose they all give me some little joy. I read cookbooks and recipes like fiction as well. Pattern books, pretty gardening magazines. All things beautiful and creative. Here is a really nifty thing that caught my attention this week. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Fill-in-the-Blanks Cookbook Log
One of my favorite blogs is The Small Object. I was browsing one day and came across this great cookbook organizer for recipes:

OK -this alone doesn’t look terribly spectacular, but its the concept that is fantastically useful!
You paste this into the inside flap of one of your cookbooks. Then you fill out the card as you try out recipes. Personally -I write notes inside the cookbook too. Comments such as “Yuck!” and “Mmmmmm” or “Needs more garlic”. This takes it to a whole new level. With this card system and the cute little brass page finders (below) you will be able to go strait to your favorite recipes with ease. You indicate the page number in the left column of the card and the recipe name on the right. The kit comes with several cards, the brass page locator’s and the envelope that you paste into the book like an old fashioned library card. one kit is enough for 31 cookbooks.

She has so many cute items that would make thoughtful and unique gifts. Please give The Small Object a visit. Here is her blog -The Steno Pad
That’s pretty nifty…
I am very hungry. (Oh, I stole that line from the photo above.)
