Growin Granny

Ok -so I am getting the hang of granny squares. I was adding 2 single crochet between all clusters of 2 double crochet. The result was a bit bunchy looking. I ended up using one single crochet on the sides between clusters and then 2 between the clusters on the corners. I think I have it down now. I can really see how simple these would be for portable projects. The pattern is very simple to remember and once you get the hang of it -you can just keep going. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to tie off your yarn after each round. I would prefer to just continue with a variegated yarn. I have done 6 now, but the last 2 are the best looking. I am still learning how to keep a steady tension.

Now -hummmm what to do with these? I also seem to be growing unfinished projects.

Inspiration photos here.

Cool DYI site.
